Darius Lovehall is a young black poet in Chicago who starts dating Nina Mosley, a beautiful and talented photographer. While trying to figure out if they've got a "love thing" or are just "kicking it," they hang out with their friend, talking about love and sex. Then Nina tests the strength of Darius' feelings and sets a chain of romantic complications into motion.

Kianna Price Marshall

"I'm the blues in your left thigh... striving to become the funk in your right." This iconic quote from the 1997 romantic hit, “Love Jones” captures the essence of Darius and Nina's dynamic connection as their relationship blossoms and falters within Chicago's vibrant spoken-word scene. Their journey delves into themes of love, trust, and vulnerability, all set against a backdrop of artistic expression – you can’t help but want to see them win. With one of the best movie soundtracks and lyrical dialogue, Love Jones continues to be a cornerstone of Black romantic cinema."

Shamaill Ross

"The film redefines Black romance with authenticity, subtlety, and depth, moving beyond stereotypes and showcases the richness of Black intellectual and artistic spaces, particularly through its poetic and jazz-infused atmosphere."

Bryan "Harvest Blaque" Hancock

"The movie "Love Jones" shows the  raw complexities of who we are beyond stereotypes by showcasing our highs and lows in the seasons of love and longing for it.  "Love Jones" is a great human experience story. It is divine art that  also shows the power of spoken word on Screen. The vivacious and stunning  Nia Long and Lawrenz Tate anchor an all star cast that intimately whispers to  you to take off your cool when love comes calling. We need more love stories about endurance, strength and communication just like this beautiful gem. It truly encapsulates  the power of love, relationships, and genuine friendship."
