Hoot and Holler - The Fool(ish) Show

Hoot and Holler is Roanoke’s finest live storytelling event. Structured in the vein of The Moth, storytellers are given a theme and invited to share stories based on that theme. Hoot and Holler has quickly become a cherished event in The Star City. We build up our community by encouraging all people to step up and share their stories in a supportive, diverse, and  empowering format. We believe that all stories matter and that all people have thousands of stories within them to tell.

Screenagers - Growing Up in the Digital Age

Young people spend an average of 6.5 hours a day on cell phones, computers and other devices. That doesn't include the time they use screens for school and homework. 'Screenagers: How Much Screen Time is Healthy?' is a documentary that explores how much screen time is too much. Physician and mother of two Dr. Delaney Ruston became interested in this issue when her preteen started begging for a smart phone. Dr. Ruston saw other parents equally confused on how to balance technology with a young developing mind.
